Meet the Artist

I’m Stanton Dodson, a painter based in San Francisco and originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

My work is shaped by the places I’ve lived, the natural world, and the movement and connection I notice within it.

Birds, fish, and plant life tend to show up but the work is less about the subjects themselves and more about the feeling they create.

My work is instinctive. I like simple forms, imperfect marks, and leaving enough room for a painting to breathe. I want the finished work to bring a sense of calm to the space.
